RAW July 31, 2000

We see footage from earlier today of the Godfather’s former women holding a rally outside the building protesting Steven Richards and his crew. Save the Ho’s!

Steven Richards, Bull Buchanan and the Goodfather head to the ring as we see the ho’s at ringside. Goodfather gets the mic first and asks the fans to give Richards a chance and understand what they’re doing for them. Richards takes the mic and says this country fought hard for the right to bear arms, free speech and freedom of religion. Richards then says he and his crew will fight the good fight for what they believe in and that’s the Right To Censorship. At this point the ladies hop the rail and walk around with their signs as Richards says the Right To Censorship is for those that have gone too far and uses the ladies at ringside as an example. Richards has the security crew escort the ladies out and tells them to wear some decent clothes as they are led out.

The Godfather was accompanied to the ring by Victoria and The Ho’s. The Godfather took on Bull Buchanan (with Steven Richards) in a high stakes match. If the Godfather wins Steven Richards stops censoring his women, but if Godfather loses he’s can’t bring his ladies out anymore. During the match, Steven Richards goes to grab a chair when two of the ladies try to stop him. He pushes down the blonde and Steviekicks Victoria to the ground! In the end, Bull Buchanan wins the match and the Godfather’s days of pimpin’ are over! After the match, we see all the ladies huddled around Victoria to help her from the floor.

Mickie James vs. Victoria. “I ain’t the lady to mess with!” Victoria’s music hits, and Victoria makes her way down to the ring. Victoria climbs up onto the ring apron and then slingshots into the ring before hitting the ropes to pose rather enticingly for the crowd. Suddenly Mickie James’ music hits and makes her way down to the ring. Mickie slides into the ring and hits the corner to excite the crowd. Both Divas seem ready for action, so the referee signals or the bell, and this match is officially underway. Mickie and Victoria circle each other to start before locking each other up in a collar-and-elbow tie-up, but Victoria quickly transitions to a standing side head lock on Mickie. Mickie tries to whip Victoria to the ropes to break the hold, but Victoria puts on the breaks and maintains her hold on Mickie. Victoria brings Mickie down to the mat with a head lock takeover, but Mickie catches Victoria with a head scissors to break the hold. Victoria rolls to her stomach and flips forward into a jackknife pin on Mickie, but Mickie bridges up and counters into a backslide pin on Victoria. Mickie has Victoria pinned but only gets a two count before Victoria kicks out. Both Divas get back to their feet and Mickie catches Victoria with a standing side head lock, but Victoria whips Mickie to the ropes to break the hold. Mickie comes off the ropes and drops Victoria with a running shoulder block before hitting the ropes and doing a cartwheel over Victoria. Victoria gets back to her feet, but Mickie catches her with a head scissors takedown. Mickie rolls to her stomach and wrenches on Victoria’s neck, but Victoria kicks out of the hold and both Divas spring back to their feet. Victoria catches Mickie with a knee shot to the gut, whips her to the ropes, waits for her to rebound, and goes for a hip toss, but Mickie blocks with a kick to the gut and then counters with a modified arm drag takedown. Both Divas again get back to their feet, but Mickie traps Victoria in the corner and connects with two more kicks to the gut. Mickie goes for a Monkey Flip, but Victoria blocks and throws Mickie back down to the mat. Mickie gets back up to her knees, but Victoria tries to decapitate her with a brutal kick to the face. Victoria covers Mickie but only gets a two count before Mickie kicks out. Victoria again covers Mickie but again only gets a two count before Mickie kicks out. Victoria drags Mickie back to her feet, grabs her by the hair, and flings her across the ring. Mickie begins to use the ropes to get back to her feet, but Victoria connects with another kick to the head. Victoria gives Mickie another light kick to the head and then slaps her across the back of the head just to toy with her, but Mickie fights back with two punches to Victoria’s gut. Mickie gets back to her feet and lands a punch to Victoria’s face, but Victoria retaliates with a clubbing forearm shot to Mickie’s back. Victoria drags Mickie back to her feet, whips her to the corner, and charges after her, but Mickie connects with a back elbow shot to Victoria’s face. Mickie catches Victoria in a head scissors and goes for a hurricanrana, but Victoria counters into a catapult that sends Mickie all the way over and face-first down to the mat. Victoria rolls through into a Boston Crab, but Mickie valiantly refuses to submit. Mickie eventually counters into a roll-up pin but only gets a two count before Victoria kicks out. Both Divas get back to their feet and Victoria takes a swing at Mickie, but Mickie ducks the punch and counters into a crucifix pin. Mickie has Victoria covered but only gets a two count before Victoria rolls through. Both Divas get back to their feet, but Victoria immediately drops Mickie with a kick to the throat. Victoria drags Mickie back to her feet and gives her a scoop slam followed by ten mounted slaps to the face. Victoria steps right on Mickie’s gut before climbing up to the top turnbuckle and goes for the moonsault, but Mickie just manages to roll out of the way causing Victoria to crash face-first down to the mat. Both Divas slowly get back to their feet, but Mickie catches Victoria with a back kick to the gut followed by a front kick to the face. Mickie connects with the Mick Kick, covers Victoria, and gets the three count. Mickie’s music hits as the referee raises her hand in victory. Mickie climbs out of the ring and heads back up the ramp while getting some impressive love from the crowd.

Before a match could kick off however, an angry Mike Mondo stomped his way out to the ring with Ms. Blue right behind him. Mondo demanded the microphone, asking everyone if they thought what had happened to him over the past two weeks was funny. Of course, the answer was yes. It was not the answer he was looking for though. Mondo was mad. There is no place in wrestling for women, he said. In fact, there are only three things women should be allowed to do: “One, do the laundry; Two, do the housework; and, Three, do me.” Smugly, he told Ms. Blue to tie one of his hands behind his back. Mondo demanded that clips of what had occurred with Alexis the past two weeks be shown. When they came back from showing Alexis humiliating him the past two weeks, Mondo dared any of the women backstage to come out and wrestle him, with one arm tied behind his back to prove how he didn’t need both arms in order to beat any of them.
To his horror, the Queen, the Widow’s Peak Freak herself, Victoria came out to accept his challenge. She did feel that Mondo perhaps should have gotten someone his own size, but to help him understand she told him in what she said was his native language — an Ommpa-Loompa sing-song voice – that she was going to beat him. Better yet, and to further Mondo’s horror, the referee for the match would be none other than Earl Hebner. Mondo demanded that Hebner check Victoria for weapons. As he did so, Mondo reach in from behind his back and poked Victoria in the eye. Not knowing this occurred, Hebner asked for the match to start and Mondo continued his assault on her with chokes and stomps. Victoria fought back with a slap to the face, followed by returning the eyepoke to Mondo and then slamming him to the mat. As she prepared to do the widow’s peak, Mondo scooted off. Victoria ran to the ropes, but was tripped by Ms. Blue on the outside. Hebner began telling Ms. Blue off as Mondo pinned Victoria. Seeing that he was not getting his 1-2-3, Mondo got up and pushed Hebner. Hebner pushed back, right into Victoria, who rolled Mondo up and got the pin. Victoria followed up the pin by going over to Ms. Blue and kicking her off the apron. Hebner raised Victoria’s arm in victory as the two headed to the back.

Trish Stratus made her way out to the ring along with Ivory and Jacqueline and this is a six person tag team match with the trio in the ring against Jazz, Victoria and Molly Holly. All six women went at it with each other to start the match off. Trish and Victoria started it off in the ring as the other four women eliminated each other from the ring and Victoria planted Trish with a move called the spider’s web and then she pinned her for a two count. Trish Stratus was put in a camel clutch and a Boston crab at the same time by both Victoria and Molly Holly but since Molly and Victoria were illegal in the ring, the match couldn’t end in a submission. Ivory planted Jazz with a face buster and then she pinned her for the three count to get the win for her team.

Tara and Jessie come out on the stage and make their way to the ring. Their love relationship continues. Gail Kim’s music plays and she meets up with them in the ring. ODB is in the ring refereeing this match. Mickie James’ music plays and she gets in the ring and taunts from the corner. Velvet Sky comes out with the Knockout Title over her shoulder. She gets right in the ring.

Tara and Gail Kim vs. Mickie James and Velvet Sky

Mickie and Gail start the match. Gail was talking to Tara, but Mickie turns her around and starts punching her in the face. She whips her in the ropes and continues the attack. Gail is able to whip Mickie in the ropes. As Mickie bounces off, Jessie trips her. Gail goes right after Mickie. She tags Tara. She enters and they both lift Mickie up and drop her back first on the mat. Tara then pounds Mickie’s face into the mat. She gets her up and has her upside down in the corner. Tara runs and does a baseball slide into Mickie’s face. She then does a little kiss session with Jessie. Gail tags in and she goes after Mickie. She continues with punches and elbows to the face. Mickie is in the corner and Gail does a splash. Gail turns around and it gives Mickie time to fight back. She punches Gail and then does a big kick to knock Gail down. Both crawl to their corner. Both tag their partners. Sky goes right after Tara. She hits her with clotheslines and then a mid-section kick and a kick to the face. She bounces off the ropes and knocks Tara right down. She covers but Tara kicks out. Gail enters. Sky attacks her and then tosses her right into Jessie as he was on the apron. Tara gets up and is worried about Jessie. She turns around and Sky kicks her in the gut and does the In Yo Face! She pins and wins.
Winners: Velvet Sky and Mickie James

Gail gets in the ring and starts yelling at Tara. Tara gets up and is too banged up to even know what is going on. She goes to walk away, but Gail grabs the arm of Tara, pulls her forward and does a huge clothesline. She drags her to the corner and does the figure four to the steel post. ODB comes to the aid and Gail breaks it.

Taryn Terrell pops out of the women’s locker room to tell the Mystery Cameraman that she’s excited to be making her debut as a Knockout. She knows what she’s going to wear, and she also has a good idea who she’s going to call out.

We look back at last week when Brooke Hogan fired Taryn Terrell as a referee before rehiring her as a Knockout, and then Terrell comes out to the ring to tell us how excited she is to have her first official night as a Knockout. Brooke said she can get physical with whoever she wants, and since it’s Open Fight Night, there’s a girl who has ridiculed her, physically assaulted her, and cost her her job as a referee. No secret here, she’s calling out Gail Kim. Gail comes out looking as if she’s not taking this too seriously, takes a microphone from the back of So Cal Val’s head, and tells Terrell that she’s making a rookie mistake by calling out the greatest female wrestler who ever lived. She doesn’t think Terrell wants to embarrass herself like that on national television, but she’s not the only one Terrell has rubbed the wrong way. There’s someone else who wanted to call Terrell night, someone who happens to be a former Knockouts Champion, and she asks Tara to come down to the ring. Gail suckerpunches Terrell during Tara’s entrance, and the two of them lay a beating on Terrell until Velvet Sky’s music hits and she runs out with her Bruiser Brody boots on to make the save. Tara and Gail backpedal and yell angrily at Velvet and Terrell on their way out.

Velvet and Taryn Terrell are backstage and talking about what just happened out in the ring, but Terrell sees Gail and Tara walking by and attacks them, tossing them a beating until Velvet drags her off. Taz asks if she’s got anger problems or something.

We look back at this past Sunday when Taryn Terrell “accidentally” cost Gail Kim the Knockouts Title match by attacking her, then we get comments from Gail Kim from earlier tonight. Her heart goes out to Brooke Hogan, but she made the right decision by putting Taryn Terrell on probation and tells Terrell she better not ever put her hands on her again.

Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky & Mickie James vs Tara & Gail Kim

Gail and Velvet start us off and trade takedowns, Velvet snaps Gail to the mat by the hair and nearly drags her over to Tara by accident before realizing her error and dragging her completely back across the ring to Mickie. Micie comes in and goes to town on Gail with punches and kicks, hits an enzigiuri, and covers for 2 as we go to commercial.

We’re back as a very patriotically-attired Tara is working Mickie over and tying her up in the ropes with a tarantula. Tara stops to argue with Taryn Terrell while Gail dishes out punishment on the DL, then Tara covers for 2. Gail and Tara hit a double slingshot suplex on Mickie and Gail covers for 2. Gail gets in Terrell’s face again, but wastes too much time on that side work and takes a flying headscissors from Mickie. Gail and Mickie wipe each other out with a double clothesline and make simultaneous tags, then Velvet starts running Tara over with clotheslines before jabbing a boot at Gail on the floor. Gail breaks a cover at 2, then goes back to arguing with Terrell and dares Terrell to hit her. Terrell doesn’t, so Gail piefaces her and shoves her down to the mat. Terrell really should disqualify her for that, but instead she opts to slap her, stunning her long enough for Mickie to hit a flying crotch off the top rope. Tara swoops in and hits Mickie with the Widow’s Peak, but Velvet comes in and hits In Your Face for the win.

Winners: Velvet Sky & Mickie James

Knockouts champion VELVET SKY vs. TARA (w/Jessie) — Knockouts Title match — winner defends against Gail Kim at Lockdown — Taryn Terrell referee

Tara, along with Jessie, was introduced first before TNA replayed events from last week when Gail pinned Tara during the four-way elimination match for the KO Title. But, Gail was unable to pin Velvet Sky, who captured the KO Title in the four-way. Velvet Sky was introduced to the ring as Gail had to watch Velvet Sky win the title last week. Gail noted she’s sick of KO referee Taryn, claiming biased officiating. Once the bell sounded, Tara angrily attacked Velvet Sky to take the early advantage. Early in the match, Taryn became involved when Jessie tried to get involved, as usual. Chaos ensued, then Tara turned around and took Sky’s finisher for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Velvet Sky
