49. Victoria Shaves Molly Holly’s Head

Although she was a former women’s champ, Molly Holly was in a rut in WWE. Molly had been the go-getter cousin of Hardcore and Crash, the Juliet to Spike Dudley’s Romeo, the Hurricane’s Mighty Molly, the girl who used her strong morals as a gimmick, and the one with the extra “junk in her trunk.” Molly was running out of concepts, so something drastic has to be done to land her a prime spot at WrestleMania XX.

Molly agreed to put her hair against the women’s championship held by Victoria. Hear the end of the five-minute match, Molly sent Victoria neck-first into the ropes and power-bombed her from the second turnbuckle. Molly even tried to use Victoria’s favorite maneuver, the widow’s peal, as her own finisher. But Victoria, quite familiar with the setup of the move, took Molly over with a backslide to score the pinfall and retain the title.

The following minutes will be part of any WrestleMania highlight reel for years to come. A groggy Molly was strapped into a barber’s chair. Fan could tell Victoria was serious when she pulled out an electric clipper for a close shave, instead of scissors. No, Molly didn’t receive a crewcut , as Kevin Nash did after losing his hair vs. hair match to Chris Jericho last year. Instead, Victoria was as thorough as Edge when he shaved Kurt Angle bald a couple of years ago. Unlike Angle, whose hairline was already battling Mother Nature, Molly possessed thick, lustrous hair.

Thanks to Victoria, all of it ended up on the floor. Molly screamed in horror. She had become the first bald diva since Yulie Brynner!
