This week in Diva Dish, Victoria, Mickie James, Jillian and Melina talk about their Halloween on-air antics; Maria discusses her new training schedule; Beth Phoenix rocks out; and Victoria gets revved up.
In disguise
The Divas Halloween Costume Contest was a huge success at Cyber Sunday. Raw’s Mickie James, dressed as an Indian princess, was the winner with 21 percent of the vote. Then, ECW’s Kelly Kelly won the Divas Halloween Battle Royal on Raw. Diva Dish spoke to a few of the Sexiest Women on Television about their Halloween adventures.
“I would like to dedicate the match to my mom, because she was raised in Japan. It meant a lot to me, I felt the moment and I felt the culture. I had a blast,” said sumo wrestler Victoria, who wanted to thank Main Event Entertainment for her unique costume.
The SmackDown Diva admitted maneuvering in the giant sumo wrestler get-up wasn’t an easy task.
“It was very tough walking down that ramp, it was very steep. I took a trip there. Thank God for my friends, Jillian and Melina, for helping me out and getting me into the ring,” Victoria said, although the Diva wasn’t pleased with the outcome of Monday night’s match.
“I think I should have won that. I mean, come on. Kelly Kelly? This was my revenge for the girls who placed higher than me on the costume contest. Just wait until you see what Victoria dresses up as next year, because you guys are dead!” Victoria said.
While Jillian earned only 5 percent of the votes at the Divas Halloween Costume Contest Sunday night, the Raw Diva’s wildest dreams finally came to life.
“Dude, I’m Britney. My dream has come true, I am finally Miss Britney Spears!” Jillian howled. “I have the best costume, and I don’t care what anyone else says. Mickie winning was absolutely preposterous! … That’s my favorite word.”
Raw’s Las Vegas showgirl, Melina, was also just a bit peeved Mickie James won the Divas Halloween Costume Contest.
“I was upset. I mean, come on. She’s already been that costume every year,” Melina whined. “Ever since I first met her, which was years ago, she’s been an Indian princess. I mean, come on. Come up with something new, something original, something fresh!”
But the winning Indian princess, Mickie, told Diva Dish she’s grateful for our fans’ support.
“Yeah, it was really cool! I’ve been telling everyone that the fans love me, and nobody believes me… hopefully now, they’ll believe me,” Mickie smiled.
Training day
Proving she’s more than just a pretty face, Maria’s been training hard lately and is eager to get more in-ring action on Raw.
“I went to the school down in Tampa. It was so much fun. I had the opportunity to work with a bunch of the girls down there,” she said. “There are some pretty awesome chicks down there. I’m sure all the WWE fans would be excited to hear that they are beautiful, as well as vicious!”
Maria said that while she doesn’t get to tussle with the other Divas every week, it doesn’t mean she’s not practicing her moves.
“The more you can get in the ring and the more you can train, the better it is. That’s really what I’m trying to do right now,” she said. “I’m planning on going back to Tampa in two weeks to train again in the ring and work on the basics, and how to really get a girl down, how to pin her.”
Rocker chick
When Beth Phoenix isn’t showing the Divas who’s the boss in the ring, you might find the Women’s Champion rocking out to some of her favorite heavy tunes. She recently went to see one of her favorite bands — Hellyeah — in Nashville, Tenn.
“A couple of the guys I’m actually friends with. They were opening for Korn. I got a chance to go to Nashville and check out their set, and it was awesome,” Beth said.
“It was a great show. Korn was amazing, as always. I like going to concerts. I’m a laid back person outside of wrestling because I get all my aggression out in the ring,” she devilishly smiled.
Revved up
Victoria fans, start your engines! The SmackDown Diva will be at the SEMA Show this week in Las Vegas.
“It’s one of the biggest auto shows. It started on Tuesday, but I’m going to be there at the end of the week,” she said.
“I’m into cars, low riders, all that kind of stuff. I have some friends out there, and I’ll be visiting the Prestige Autotech booth.”
