Diva Dish: Riding in style
By Kara A. Medalis
Written: March 21, 2008

In this week’s Diva Dish, hop in the convertible and go for a ride with Mickie James and Candice Michelle, ride the waves with Lena Yada, enjoy playtime with Jillian, get lost with Victoria, and finally, don’t mess with Katie Lea.

Riding in style
Mickie James is riding in style. The Raw Diva recently traded in her truck for a cherry red Mercedes-Benz SLK.

“It’s hot. It has a hard top convertible that folds down into the trunk. It’s a little two- seater, so it’s perfect for me and my dog. And yeah, it’s awesome,” she said. “I kept the convertible down all week.”

But the fun in the sun doesn’t end at home for Mickie. While traveling with Candice Michelle recently, the sexy Raw duo let their hair down while driving on the open highway.

“We landed, got our car and went outside and were like, ‘It’s hot outside, how great would it be if we had our bikini tops and a convertible?’ So we traded our car back in and got a Mustang Sally convertible. You know Mustang Sally? Sally my baby, whatcha want to slow that Mustang down… That one?” she asked.

“Yeah, but we had a white Mustang convertible out there. We had our bikini tops on, and the wind was going through our hair. We girls just want to have fun. Cindy Lauper said it all — girls just want to have fun. And we did, we had a lot of fun,” Mickie smiled.

Surf’s up
The lovely and athletic Lena Yada has been busy since becoming an ECW Diva. While trying out for the Diva Search, the Honolulu native was ranked No. 8 in the world in professional tandem surfing. The Diva can’t wait to get back in the water.

“It’s not warm enough yet to practice right now for tandem surfing, and my partner unfortunately has been very ill and now he’s getting better, so the next time I get the chance to go back to Hawaii I will be there practicing,” Lena told Diva Dish. “The world championships are in August again so I can’t wait to see them.”

Child’s play
When Jillian’s not traveling the globe, kicking butt and singing her own praises, the Diva can often be found in an arcade.

“There’s this new place I like to go to. It’s like a Chuck E. Cheese, but for adults. It’s my new favorite spot in Louisville,” she revealed. “They have like a giant jungle gym and they have giant trampolines and … um … stuff. You know, like skee ball and Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Deal or No Deal games. “It’s oh so much fun.”

Jillian said she’s won thousands upon thousands of prize-earning tickets because she recently spent three days there in one week. But she doesn’t always earn her tickets the hard way.

So I kind of pull at the tickets when they come out, thank you. And then if someone’s coming to check the machine or something, I’ll be like, ‘Got some extra tickets for me?’ and sometimes they’ll give them to you,” she smiled.

Diva Dish has a little warning for the moms out there, courtesy of Jillian, who says she goes incognito while out and about at the arcade.

“I knock the kids off the machines so that I can get on,” she smirked.

Hanging with Victoria
We swear we didn’t jinx Victoria — we swear! But recently in Diva Dish, the SmackDown Diva apologized for missing a live event — her first in seven years. Thanks to weather and travel woes, Victoria missed another live event. While she was squeezed onto a flight to Atlanta, bad driving directions — thanks to Jesse & Festus — made her miss a Divas competition.

“I didn’t have a GPS, and turned the wrong way. I listened to Jesse & Festus, who are the worst people to listen to, and I was late! They already did the Divas’ best body contest, and you cannot have a best body contest without myself there. You know I would have stolen that, right?” she asked.

“There must be an anti-Victoria campaign going on that I don’t know about, so I was kind of upset. So that was that, another show missed, the second one in seven years!”

And for those following Victoria’s new business venture — Black Widow Customs — will be opening this spring in Louisville, Ky.

“We’re opening in May. The reason why it’s so delayed is we’re doing construction on the building and we have to get the city to OK it, and that takes a while,” she explained. “But don’t fret, it’s going to be open in May and it’s going to rock! I got more new stuff and I’m excited, totally excited.”

Also, the results still aren’t in for the YouTube Chrysler 300 Spin It Your Way online contest, which Victoria entered her Chrysler 300 in.

“This month we are going to find out from Chrysler who wins. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I have a good feeling! But just like our shows, it’s subject to change,” she laughed.

Don’t mess with Texas
Katie Lea Burchill was on the hunt for some handsome cowboys this week while on the road in Texas. But is the British-born beauty ready to leave her across-the-pond roots for an American man? Not exactly.

“I was very excited about going to Texas because I thought I could pick up some cute cowboys on the way, but unfortunately we only saw ugly ones,” she frowned. “But I comforted myself with the fact that I still have the handsomest man in world by my side, and that’s my big brother, Paul.”

So instead of picking up cowboys, just what did the Raw Diva do? Well, beat people up with her brother, naturally.

“Well, of course we had to beat WWE Superstars on Raw live events, but a couple of times we were challenged outside of the ring. I think people see us and they’re jealous,” she said.

“They know that the British are superior to anyone that can come out of here, especially those cowboys in Texas and such, so you know there was a lot of jealousy flying around. There were a lot people trying to start on us, and you know, we gave them their run for their money.”
