Diva Dish: Go Team!
By Kara A. Medalis with Zack Zeigler
Written: September 28, 2007

This week in Diva Dish, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Brooke, Mickie James, Victoria, Jillian, Torrie Wilson, Melina and Cherry talk sports; Lilian Garcia chats about her ¡Quiero Vivir! record release party; Torrie packs her bags; and Jillian and Melina share a silly moment.

Go team!
With football season in full-swing and baseball season winding down, we at Diva Dish thought it was the right time to talk sports with some of the Sexiest Women on Television.

“I am a college football fan, and I don’t want to hear one word about it, because they haven’t started off too strong this season, but I’m a Florida State Seminoles alum. I am a die-hard Seminole, through thick and thin,” said Michelle McCool.

“I’m a big college sports fan, but if I had to pick a NFL team, I like the Steelers,” the SmackDown Diva said. “I’m a Steelers fan. I love Jerome Bettis. Obviously, he’s retired, but he was one of my favorites. I’m a big Steelers fan. The McCool side comes from Pennsylvania.”

Kelly Kelly said she sticks close to home – the Sunshine State – when it comes to her favorite football teams.

“I love football. I’m a big football fan. I love the Bucs because I live in Tampa, Fla., now. But I’m from Jacksonville, so I love the Jaguars. I love going to games on Sundays, it’s so much fun. I love going with my dad because he’s a big football fan, too,” the ECW Diva said.

“I used to go to games all the time when I was in high school with my girlfriends, but we’d always have to leave after the third quarter because the guys would get so rowdy! We’d be like, ‘Uh oh, it’s almost the fourth quarter, we’ve got to go!’ ” Kelly Kelly laughed.

Fellow ECW Diva, Brooke, roots for her hometown teams, too.

“When it comes to baseball, I like the Astros because I’m from Houston,” Brooke said. “I don’t really watch football. I’m living in Tampa, so they’re really high on the Bucs, so I think I’m going to go. I love going to football games and tailgating. It’s fun to be out in the parking lot, playing games and watching the game afterwards.”

Mickie James said that while she’s not from Texas, she grew up watching the Dallas Cowboys.

“The Cowboys are doing mighty fine this year – 3 and 0. You can’t beat the Cowboys,” the Raw Diva insisted. “They’re going to the Super Bowl. They’re going to win the Super Bowl, in fact!”

Diva Dish recently reported that Victoria is a huge fan of the Louisville Fire arena football team. But when it comes to the major leagues, the SmackDown Diva has a few favorites.

“I’m a New York Yankees fan, and I like the Chicago Cubs, because I lived there for a while. But I’m a Yankees fan – I like A-Rod and Jeter,” Victoria said. “As for football, I like the Bears. When I lived there, I really got into it.”

Jillian isn’t a gridiron girl, but she has a hometown favorite Major League Baseball team.

“I’m not a big football fan. Sometimes I watch the Super Bowl, but that’s it,” the Raw Diva proclaimed. “As for baseball, I guess I like the Reds, because I live the closest to them.”

Torrie Wilson and Melina, on the other hand, said that while they enjoy watching sports, neither can pinpoint her favorite teams.

“I like watching it, but there’s no time to follow any of that really!” Torrie admitted.

“I love watching football. I don’t follow it religiously like everyone else does, but I do love watching it,” Melina said. “I love baseball, too, because that’s what my dad used to play all the time – boxing and baseball – but I don’t follow a specific team.”

When it comes to sports, there’s only one on Cherry’s mind these days, and it’s not football or baseball.

“I’m not a football fan now, but I was a football cheerleader for my whole life! But I was never really into football. I was always into wrestling,” the SmackDown Diva said. “I always watched my wrestling from Saturday mornings to Saturday Night’s Main Event to WrestleManias. Wrestling was my thing.”

¡Quiero Vivir!
The release of Lilian Garcia’s new album, ¡Quiero Vivir!, is less than two weeks away. Diva Dish caught up with the Raw ring announcer to get her thoughts on the big, upcoming day – Oct. 9.

“I’m going through every emotion you can think of. I’ve had such highs and, I wouldn’t say lows… but I’m just nervous. My stomach is doing flips, just because I want this to be so successful,” Lilian said.

The Diva mentioned that ¡Quiero Vivir! wouldn’t be possible without her band.

“I have really incredible musicians. They are top of the line. I’m just really, really thrilled that they want to be part of this. They’re excited to be doing this,” she explained.

Come one, come all – Lilian also wanted to invite all our fans to her record release party next month.

“We’re having a record release party at the Knitting Factory in New York City on Oct. 11. It’s going to be great. Anybody can come, it’s all ages,” she said. “It’s a late show, but it’s New York City, so they’re used to going out late. Doors open at 11, in fact. You can go to KnittingFactory.com for tickets.” Click here for tickets.

Don’t forget to preorder your autographed copy of ¡Quiero Vivir! now at WWE Shop. Check out WWE.com’s exclusive video of the making of ¡Quiero Vivir!.

Lilian sings
Hey, Lilian fans – mark your calendars! The Raw ring announcer will be singing the National Anthem before the New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins game on Sept. 23 at The Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. It’s the fifth year in a row Lilian will be singing the National Anthem for the Jets. Her appearance is part of the NFL’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and Wayne Chrebet Day.

For more information on the New York Jets, visit their official Web site.

World traveler
Jetsetter Torrie Wilson is set to pack her bags and travel around the world in the next couple of weeks.

“I’m going to China on Saturday for the Special Olympics! I am very much looking forward to that. Eight days in China might be a little too much, but I’m excited to go shopping,” the SmackDown Diva admitted. “I’m also going to Australia for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards after that. So I have a pretty busy next two weeks!”

Another day in the life…
Jillian always has a wacky story to tell Diva Dish, and this week when we ran into the songstress and her Raw Diva pal, Melina, in the hallway, she had another tale to tell.

“I went down a one-way street the wrong way,” Jillian said, rolling her eyes.

“She had a Maria moment,” Melina interjected.

“I did have a Maria moment. That’s a good one,” Jillian laughed. “And cars were yelling at me. And it stressed me out!”
