This week in Diva Dish, the 2007 WWE Diva Search has begun! Last year’s winner, Layla, muses on the life-changing experience. Also, Mickie James rocks the Warped Tour, then stares down Victoria over their wheels. Michelle McCool hits the volleyball court, while Kristal readies to walk down the aisle.
Divas wanted
WWE is looking for its next Diva. Do you think you have what it takes? The 2007 WWE Diva Search has launched and skyrocketed the careers of several sexy women, including Playboy cover girls Candice Michelle and Ashley; and Maryse, Kristal and last year’s Diva Search winner, Layla, to name a few.
“Taking part in the 2006 WWE Diva Search was an amazing experience for me, and it’s changed my life drastically,” Layla told Diva Dish. “Not only do I have a contract with WWE, I’m also traveling around, I’m busy, I have exposure, I’m doing something I really, really love. It’s enhanced me as a person. It’s made me a lot more confident. It’s made me a lot stronger.”
If you think you have what WWE wants, apply to the 2007 WWE Diva Search now! The deadline is July 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET, so hurry! Stay tuned to WWE.com and Diva Dish for more on the 2007 WWE Diva Search and complete Diva Search site, coming in August.
Punk rock Diva
Mickie James will be a special guest at the Warped Tour stop in Tinley Park, Ill., on July 28. The Raw Diva told Diva Dish she is excited to hang with the fans on the tour and listen to bands such as Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, MxPx, The Toasters and Big D and the Kids Table.
“My whole goal of the entire concert is to hit every stage, and stage dive off of each one. I’m just going to run up and dive off and hope that everyone catches me, unless they arrest me first,” Mickie chuckled.
“And then I want to get carried along to the next stage, and set back up so I can do it again, all the way around, from stage to stage.”
This year, the Warped Tour is taking action and getting involved with community and worldwide causes. Check out Warped’s Take Action site.
Stay tuned to Diva Dish for more on other Divas’ upcoming appearances on several summer concert tours.
Wheeling around
Not only is Victoria rolling over the competition on Friday nights, the demented SmackDown Diva was recently caught backstage speeding around the hallways.
“I’m into Heelys, the new roller skate shoes,” she snapped. “You never know, Victoria may be on Team Heely. I actually applied for it, to be a team member. I’m addicted to these things. I’m practicing everyday.”
She’s not the only Heelys-sporting Diva we’ve spotted behind-the-scenes, although Victoria insists she’s the master.
“Between Melina, Mickie James and I, I’m the Heelys chick. I’m claiming Heelys Champion!” Victoria yelled, her eyes narrowing as Raw’s Mickie rolled up.
“She stole the Heelys idea! I was the originator and she went and got the Heelys!” Mickie interrupted.
“Not only that, she got faster wheels for the Heelys. She totally stole my idea! Melina has Heelys, too, and when they were teaming together, they were rubbing it in my face, how they were Heeling around together!” Mickie scowled.
If this Divas’ Heely-rivalry isn’t settled in the ring, we think Victoria and Mickie should settle it on the roller derby track!
All-American athlete
In this week’s exclusive, WWE.com Michelle McCool: All-American Girl extended feature, the sexy, SmackDown Diva hits the beach for a game of volleyball. The sport comes easily to the Florida native.
“I’ve played a lot of volleyball on the beach. Anytime I was on the beach, if I wasn’t laying out or in the water, I was probably throwing a football or peppering around with a volleyball,” Michelle said.
But the Diva’s talents don’t stop there. She’s a natural athlete, no matter the sport, and always has fun, no matter the game.
“I had a nasty elbow playing basketball – I’ll incorporate that anytime I can. I grew up with a bunch of boys, so in the summertime or whenever, we’d go outside and play,” she explained. “Sometimes we’d play a game where you’d throw a football up in the air and whoever caught it went and tried to cream it. I think we called it ‘tackle loco.’
“But I was the naïve one. I was the only girl, period, with all my brothers and cousins, and I’d catch the ball for some reason – I don’t know why – and just let them cream me!” she laughed.
